  1. You are right! My cousins live in Mumbai and they wanted to wear winter clothes, especially jackets. They simply bought them and came to Delhi just to experience the weather..lol. That was weird for me. But when I went to Mumbai I realized why they did so. This was long ago.
I am more often stationed working in front of my PC. I really like this idea of wearing ankle length skirts with boots and leggings inside and a pair of shorts with patterned leggings and a blazer on top. I was thinking about this for ages but wasn’t confident about it. But now I will definitely try them (I hope I’ll look good in them).
Even I don’t like Amazon collection. I only buy books from Amazon. Hmmm, I think buying online is not a good idea I guess especially for me who is stationed at one place. And I really can’t tolerate too many emails and calls.
I will go out instead with my mom and sis to malls and buy what you suggested. Thank you so much for your suggestion 🙂

    1. @Vidisha: I don’t see why online wouldn’t be a good option. It only really works if you are in one place else it’s a big problem trying to coordinate with couriers delivering. But yes, the excessive email/call thing is a pain.
I find shopping online easier than dealing with rude/overworked/underpaid staff in malls, not to mention limited pieces. Online I can browse even at 3 in the morning and have Flipkart, Koovs, Amazon and others open.
All the best and don’t forget to share pics/videos! I’d love to feature you in an I Wear video if you liked something I suggested. 😃

    1. @Frontpostblog: When the video was shot, we were right in the middle of Mumbai’s stickiest period – towards the end of monsoon and before October heat/pre-winter begins. Denim wasn’t ideal for then but it’s pretty decent for the rest of the year (the lighter forms like tencel that is, not heavy, thick denim).

      1. BTW I have seen your videos and I really like your dressing sense. Could you please recommend me any clothes for present Delhi weather? And which online site do you prefer?

        1. @Vidisha: Hi! And thank you so much for watching. Most of the time I’m wondering if it’s just me and one other style-interested friend who’re watching.
Ooh you’re in Delhi! That means the whole world of jackets, pullovers and scarves is open to you. You don’t know just how many Mumbai people long for the kind of weather that will allow for this but Mumbai is tropical summer all year round.
I guess it depends on what kind of colours and fabrics you like (and the good news is Delhi has such a wide variety of these to offer). It also depends on what kind of situations you are often in. Do you need to travel around a lot or are you usually stationed in one place most of the time? Does your day involve being outdoors more often than indoors? Do you work in or live with people who have certain expectations (no fitted clothes etc.).
If I were you, I’d definitely invest in a good blazer, maybe in an unusual colour (not the standard black or grey). It would go well with jeans, formal trousers, skirts and if you’re daring enough, even Indian wear. Look for strong stitches, good buttons and a good fit – these things are worth paying for.
There are a lot of options for Indian women when it comes to bottoms now. There are always jeans of course (the more casual ones but also sober ones that could almost pass for formal). Experiment with trousers instead. You could also try ankle length skirts with boots and leggings inside. If you want to be really daring, you could even team a pair of shorts with patterned leggings (not stockings) and a blazer on top.
I have picked up a lot of clothes from Jabong but I’m not as sure about them now that they’re owned by Flipkart. I don’t like Amazon’s clothing collection as much (or maybe it’s just their browsing interface is not as nice) but they have some interesting accessories. I also saw some great stuff on Koovs but I was put off by their harassment-level emailing and phone calls after I browsed one time. And finally, there’s StalkBuyLove which has some good pieces but they don’t update the collections as often.
These are some things I’d love to do but can’t in the Mumbai weather so I hope they work well for you! Do share pictures if you decide to try them out. 🙂
