POEM: An Ode To Red
Red is the colour of lust
and trickling down her legs in testimony to her long wait
Red is the colour of anger
and caked up on the forehead of the offender
Red is the colour of frustration
and decorates his face in acne spots and soon-to-be pimples
Red is the colour of defiance
and flashing my fingernails to all those who say it only looks good on fair skin
Red is the colour of the forbidden fruit
smudged on her lips and streaked across his shirt collar
Red is the colour of disapproval
slashed all across a less than perfect examination paper like whiplashes
Red is the colour of me
@ Sense: *APPLAUSE* The media-shy poet in Sensorcaine has been sighted!!!
Red is also the colour of a rose, in full bloom in the joyous spring.
Red is also the colour of sindoor applied on a bountiful mother’s forehead.
Red is the colour of joy, of life, of love…and defiance, anger, disapproval, frustration form just an infinitesimal of the glorious whole that is the essence of the colour.
