I Won NaNoWriMo 2013!

Did you miss me? I haven’t actually written a single blogpost in the month of November. Yes, score one for the bottomless pit of Drafts. I’ve been busy running a word marathon – the #NaNoWriMo. I first attempted WriMo in 2009 but I came down with malaria on Day 3 and had to drop out. This time, I’m very, very chuffed to say, I DID IT!!!!

The challenge was to write a novel of at least 50,000 words starting on November 1 and ending on or before November 30. It’s a marathon for a writer, it is. I’ve just finished it and here’s what the NaNoWriMo site has for me:

This by the way, is not a contest but a personal challenge. I now have a raw but near complete novel, fully plotted, characterised and written out. I’ll be getting to the dirty but much simpler job of editing it in 2014 and then the arduous publisher chase. But for now, IMMAWINNER, bitch!
