A Real Good Listener
Listen
Listen to her speak
Hear every word she says
and also how she says it
Watch her eyes sparkle
and then turn cloudy
then over-bright again
and see how her hands suddenly move fluidly
to cover up what her eyes don’t seem to be able to hide
Hear her breathe
as she rushes on,
a torrent of words,
tumbling over each other
and hidden among two crammed together
is a gentle, almost inaudible sigh
If you listen carefully enough,
you’ll even hear a little sob
and an occasional smile
Yes, smiles can be heard
and frowns too
Pain is the easiest to hear
and so is joy
but not love
or loyalty
or hatred
But who needs to listen to the words?
They are but distractions
Didn’t someone say that language was the art of concealing thought?
Well, listening is the art of hearing what people don’t say.
very nicely written indeed..love the flow of the words, and meaning it ties down…–>
Sometimes even words fail you. And most of the times silence goes unheard.

“Listen. Do not have an opinion while you listen because frankly, your opinion doesn’t hold much water outside of Your Universe. Just listen. Listen until their brain has been twisted like a dripping towel and what they have to say is all over the floor.”
