Disconnect
She said, “I miss sitting next to you.”
He said, “I miss sleeping next to you.”
She turned away, thinking “That’s all it ever was to him. All those conversations, all those memories, he never was listening or even being himself with me.”
He stood there, staring into thin air as always, thinking “She never really understood, did she? I said sleeping next to, not sleeping with.”
Why have they been “missing” the sitting/sleeping thingie. Thats what is causing all the concern. They havent spending enough time with each other. Sit or sleept..but spend time..
thats so sweet. 🙁
lovely play of words 🙂
If only we’d let the other know! Would save the world so much heartache. 🙂
‘Sleeping with someone next to you’
That would make it more interesting 😀
What a subtle use of the language.
I couldnt help laughing my ass off, thanks a million for the disconnection :))
I really liked this one – deceptively simple, and yet quite insightful. Reminded me a lot of Kahlil Gibran.
yap…sweet 🙂
I love these he said/ she said posts. There was a time when I would write post after he said/ she said post.
And I agree with ‘him’. Sometimes, sleeping next to someone is more satisfying than sleeping with them.
Will be back for more. 🙂
