  1. I guess it would be fear. I can’t imagine anyone actually stays in a salaried job in the corporate world because of a passion for it. Those who do have that passion usually dream of being entrepreneurs. For the rest of us, it is the security of a steady paycheck and the so-called respectability of a white-collar job. I have tried once to break out of the mould myself but came back for reasons that were more practical than idealistic.

Also…most comments are either observations by my readers, which I would not like to bias by responding either in agreement or denial. The few questions that turn up…I think I answer some and some others can’t be answered within the limits of anonymity.–>

  2. I keep hearing these stories about a heartless business world, business school days that change a person from a happy liver to a mean, calculating machine etc. But if it is so bad, why do people stay in this business? Greed for money? Greed for power? Or is it that they feel passionate about what they do but don’t really like the way the rest of the world functions? Could it because of jealousy?

(I feel a lot less cynical about the world than I did a couple of years back. But I remain an inquisitive cynic nevertheless…)

And you never respond to any comments. Why?
