  1. Something like this happened to me once. A family friend introduced us to a man named Jack, that’s the only name I ever knew. I told him I liked reading adventure stories, and the next time I saw him he handed me a book called The Castle Of Adventure, by Enid Blyton. I’ve read it hundreds of times now, the cover has come off, and it lives in a protective plastic bag to keep it from crumbling more. It’s funny to say it changed my life, because it’s essentially a children’s book, but it introduced me to England and the culture there, and made me love reading even more.
